Thanks for the welcome again!
I started over and I have a Dwarf fighter with 19 cons. he can have 15 hp points added per level, he's only level 5 but he has more hp than my level 8 ranger! it's crazy I tell you, CRAZY!!! oooh k.... he travels alone and has full proficiency on ax, but I just hate that fighters can be overwhelmed so quikly.

I usually play a thief/ranger but bg doesn't let that happen so I'm stuck with a ranger, no matter though. I've just started over and I beat the nashkell mines with a level 3 ranger, greywolfs sword, L shield +1, fullplate, ring of protection+1, and a mace for the skeletons.

Prefered thief/mages, myself, or for characters I was going to export into BGII a thief dualed over. As someone said above I loved the power of a mage, since you can pretty well win any fight with their help. Also, using a mage almost forces you to work on who you accept into your party, since you have to be able to defend him/her while still covering all the basics...

am i right in thinking this is a good idea:
get right up to completing the game so high level then dualclass my main char to something else and build up as much as i can (wont overtake my other level obviously but will be worked up, atm im fighter) is it worth doing this because im thinking i work my way up as a mage maybe (hear their really hard in bg2) so by the time i go to take sarevok on im say lvl 10 fighter lvl 6 mage or something realistic with the exp left in the game, or any class doesnt matter, but is it feasible to do that would i get the benefits of having high hps, high warrior stats etc in addition to being a powerful magic wielder? |

I like rangers simply because of the near - munchkin kit in the foirm of (SPOILER)Archer, not to mention the incredible ease of rolling their stats.
But then Fighter/Mage multiclass seems to appeal to me...the concept of those with multiple talents...

I like to use multi-class and dual-class characters, especially ones that aren't available as NPC's. Big problem here for me is that the small races can't dual-class.
Some of my favourites are Fighter/Mage, Cleric/Mage and Thief/Cleric. The latter is much underrated, I get a Thief to 100% in traps, then dual-class to Cleric and use him/her as a front line trap specialist. Who would you rather send forward to find the traps, a Thief/Cleric with full armour and 'Sanctuary' or dear little Imoen.

Mine favorite class is fighter, because of simple reason.He/she wont be first one to die,and can wear proper armor. This is quite boring class though,so sometimes nice change is needed. But I would NEVER again be a bard or have one in my party.

You mentioned just the reasons I dont take bards, they may be fun,but they are weak and not very good at anything.I once was a bard myself,it was more horrible than I could have imagined. |
