erm i got the book and assumed it was for a quest, who actually wants the book anyway? i was close to selling it for a paltry gold coin [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Ulcaster, the ghost walking about the ruins on the surface. I'm not sure but I think he only appears at night.

doesn't ulcaster also make a magic item for you? what items do u need to make it and what does it do?

The item does damage to you, the attacker, so is pretty pointless.

u sure its ulcaster i give it to, i seen someone beginning with R in a walkthrough who is in beregost but i got no clue where, argrgrgghhhh i hate niggly items like this [img]tongue.gif[/img]

If you ran into the ghost above the entrance to the ruins, then he'll have given you the quest in the first place. That is the guy you need to return the book to. Forget about any notion of the other item you can get him to make. It's pony.
