I killed a fourth one much later, near Boogre Lake; didn't figure it was affiliated with the Shurugeon ones.

BTW, those Lily things that infest Boogreland: they *are* the same as Mantraps, are they not? They looked, acted, and died just the same -- although they seemed easier, because I was a good deal stronger by that time...

Where is the prob with the Mantraps??? I use only firestorm (my favorit spell!!! with silver-pro_fire-Rings...) and i seldom need more then two shots for them. Flamedrop make only one point of damage a time, that takes a while for them, burning haze ans firebreath aren't bad but the best solution is firestorm...

Thanks for all those who helped; there were 4 mantraps. I poked my head around the wall guarding the castle door. I also poked my head around my horse that I left standing at the front gate-ready to sacrifice him if necessary. Then walked very slowly 'til one came into sight at the top of a small hill. The strongest firespell I had was flamestrike. It took 5 or 6 hits for each one to die. They only showed up one at a time and they never fired a shot at me...and now for the mucks.

Happy Holidays everyone.

Say, teefha: I've never known *ANYBODY* to have Firestorm that early in the game. Shurugeon, for most people, is the first stop after the Oracles & Ishad N'ha. If you had Firestorm, sure they'd be easy, but almost everybody is limited to such wonders as Flamestrike and Burning Haze at that point in the game.

I had firestorm when I first went outside Ishad N'Ha, but then again I play with a party of 3, so you develop faster. (And I concentrated on having fire level 7, because I knew what was coming.)
