The book Elowin talks about is the serpent tome (?) with the answers to the questions of Xydusa.
The book of fire I found in a room between Xydusa's lair and the elevator maze. You need the serpent key for it, that you get from the Serpent Master. It's easy to forget there was a room you hadn't opened yet when you just found the key to get you further. |
