Adding to all this, I am playing Watchers Keep in Throne of Bhaal, not SOA. I have to believe there is some adjustment to the strengths based on the groups combined level because I have gotten my butt kicked on some of the lower levels here and I am over 20th level. Yes there are interesting conversations and events like having Sarevok change from Evil to Good. yes I said Sarevok, he's back from the dead and in my group. And the weapons, I just got two +6 weapons and both Vorpal so its really worth wild in my book to wait until after you have begun Throne of Bhaal. My suggestion is if you have a saved game before you entered the Keep go back to it and finish SOA. Then start Throne of Bhaal, complete one or two tasks and then start Watchers Keep.

As for whether you should start and stop the keep in the middle stay tuned. I have reached the final seal but I know the guardians are way too tough for the moment. I am considering going back and getting another task done and then return to finish the keep.

Thanks for the ideas, everyone.

You've provided much food for thought. And speaking of food, to update my progress - after umpteen reloads I've finally managed to create Salad-ressing out of the haughty Saladrex.
I'll give the details in the other thread about how I managed to do it. Most people seem to have found it easy to do, but it was quite the contrary for me - definitely my hardest dragon battle.

How much of a difficulty curve is the final level I wonder compared to those before it?
I still think that overall so far, level 3 has been the most nasty.

Since I've now cleared the entirety of the fourth level of WK, I think I shall rest up and head back to the surface and complete SoA. That way I'll be saving the last level of WK for when I do end up tackling ToB. I've considered just keeping up my progress by trying level 5 now, but I don't particularly want to miss out on any goodies as a result of doing it before finishing SoA, if that factor is true. Yes, time to chase down our friend Irenicus I think.
