The player's mind is better than the Hackmaster +10. No one's mentioned it, but the Flail of Ages +5 is great, too.
Can someone explain to me the appeal of Foebane? I've never really used bastard swords. I've always read its description and either sold it or forgot it in my stash. Is it the extra damage against extra-planar beings? What makes it so good?

Step 2: Give it to a Warrior, preferably somebody with high Physical Resistances (such as a Barbarian). Step 3: Cackle with glee as you see that they are now practically invincible. What *I* don't get, personally, is the appeal of Hindo's Doom. I think it would make a lot more sense to have its location switched with that of Celestial Fury.

Hmmm... I just re-checked the description for the upgraded Foebane and can't believe I never noticed the "perks" before. I see what you mean. And the timing couldn't be better in my current game, because I'm heading off to WK shortly.
I'm with you on Hindo's Doom. The death magic immunity is nice, but hardly irreplaceable by the time you get the upgraded version. However, it's hard to beat Cespenar's comments about it (and Hindo's Hand, of course). CF is so powerful that it (and not the Equalizer or the Silver Sword) should be a weapon you have to assemble late in the game.

Hindo's Doom isn't so appealing, but it's the only +4 katana in the game. It's also one of the weakest upgrades IMHO, which means a tad bit less power gaming.

I hate Hindo's Doom. I just love Cespenar. As evidenced by my signature during this difficult Signature Transition Period I'm having.
The Player's Mind is one of the most potent tools available. Sadly, these days it's a weapon many choose to ignore...
