Tricks with the "Ugly Stick"
Gotta love the rod of terror(you need to kill the lich in the hidden room in the inn at the city gates) ...you give it to a npc who annoys you, but you had them along for a specific quest or reward, like Cernd or anoweenie, once they have outlived their usefulness, and have them attack things...you see, the rod randomly drains charisma, (hence the ugly stick) and if they use it long enough, they eventually die horribly of self inflicted uglification(is there even such a word???) of attribute drain...this is always good for a laugh...but someone, came up with an even more evil and truly sick exploit for the rod....
give it to your pc....yes, you!!! and start attacking things, like goblins and other low level creatures, and wait until your charisma drops to around 2 or 1, then equipp the ring of human influence...this will SET your charisma to 18, keep using for a long time after, to make sure your charisma drops BELOW 0, then take off the ring, and the game engine which does not permit a negative attribute score, will wrap around the negative value of your charisma score, and you end up with a charisma of 25....is this evil or what????? yes, i know you can edit your attributes via shadow keeper, but it just warms up my heart in knowing i uglified (really, is there such a word???) my pc to godlike good looks.....
now thats nasty

Indeed...I had some fun with my Archer whilst using an Oil of Speed, Imp Haste, Tuigan bow and Greater Deathblow

Best suit for a fighter is simple, unenchanted Full Plate Mail (AC1).

Why? Because this means that you can wear the ring of protection +2 (or +3), giving you an armour class between -1 and -2 PLUS an additional boost to your saving throw of 2 or 3 points.

Resistance to fire, acid, cold etc can be handy with blue dragon plate et. al - but not nearly as much as that boost to your saving throws which will be needed far more often than those resistances ever will be.

Yeah the full plate mail doesn't look very cool - but there's nothing to stop you from altering the colour code of plate04.itm to something nicer with infinity editor (a blueish value of 17 or 18 looks pretty good).

I like the way the Plate of Balduran and the Armor of Hart +3 look on a fighter, but Gorgon Plate Mail is one of the best in the game.

Or SHE, of course. Nothing finer than a female elven fighter sporting red dragon scale.

Anyway, I usually just carry around all the good armours and store them in the good old Bag of Holding. Then when you need fire resistance, voila! Acid resistance, no problem! Cold? Electricity? "I fart in your general direction!" (Said in that goofy French accent as in Monty Python and the Holy Grail)

It's a little bit unrealistic to lug around all that equipment, but who cares, this is fantasy!

Not at all unrealistic. The best adventurers are always prepared. True, it might not be as practical to lug around the Red Dragon Plate when you also have rings and helms to help... Not to mention spells and scrolls... But it's hard to find something more satisfying than having a character absorb elemental damage whilst laughing at the source.
And I couldn't agree more about the female fighters... I find the female avatars more impressive than the male ones, but that's just me.

i was just thinking.. you have 10 fingers to put different rings.. why limit yourself to two right? you can get fire, cold, acid resistance in each fingers and you still have 7 fingers left. just wondering.. hmm...

edit: based on this post
