Also what is really handy if you are soloing is that hardiness stacks. Three of those on at once and anybody is 120% immune to physical damage. Now you can put another weapon in the offhand slot and be a killing machine at high levels

Sorry, BlackJack, but this is a known bug.
It is fixed in the Baldurdash ToB fixpack. ![]()

Are you sure that you have installed the Baldurdash patch and not the official patch? Try it again, and look carefully if it stacks. If it does, it's a bug in your game, and you should reinstall.

FTC would be good regarding the Jan/DoE/Hardiness/AoF combo, although 2 of these are only temporary protections. Still a kick arse combo though!
Further ramblings: Quote:
![]() Quote:
Final ramblings: If you consider a barbarian with 20% resistance, equiped with the DoE for another 20%, he/she will have a permament: Slashing 40% Crushing 40% Piercing 40% Missile 40% Now lets equip the Ronarchs Horn (i'm certain this is found on Gromnir's body along with a couple of flails and a Ioun stone) to get the 50% crushing resistance: Slashing 40% Crushing 90% Piercing 40% Missile 40% Now lets assume that were dualing the DoE with Crom Faeyr (i.e. no girdle of strength needed) and so we equip the belt of inertial barrier to recieve the magic damage and missile benefits: Slashing 40% Crushing 90% Piercing 40% Missile 65% Magic Damage 50% And while we're at it we can equip the cloak of mirroring: Slashing 40% Crushing 90% Piercing 40% Missile 65% Magic Damage 100% Wow this is looking good. lets now assume that people are using the David Gaider's HLA for ToB. If we take the evil path for challenge number 4, the character recieves a permament +25% resistance to slashing, crushing and piercing: Slashing 65% Crushing 115% Piercing 65% Missile 90% Magic Damage 100% Check those out for permament resistances!! You are now healed everytime you get clobbered with a blunt weapon! Finally, applying hardiness boosts them to: Slashing 105% Crushing 127% (127 is the max) Piercing 105% Missile 127% Magic Damage 100% Therefore we have achieved invincibility!! Just make sure that you choose plenty of hardiness HLA's once you get past level 20 and you're laughing. This is only physical and magical damage invincibility though. The elements are still damaging at this point, although there are a number of rings which could be equiped to boost these too (as well as those granted by taking the good path in hell). |

The F/T/C can emulate the Barbarian as well. JJ's armour is 5% better than the Barbarian's innate physical resistances. The F/T/C can wear the helmet too. Since F/T/C can only use blunt weapons, it will be safe to assume that they will want to use Crom Faeyr. Even if they do not use Crom Faeyr, they still have Draw Upon Holy Might and Righteous Magic( not to mention a boost in HP, since this will be lacking).
However, Good-Aligned players will not choose any of the evil paths, so I will assume that as a non-option. Evil-Aligned players are free to make full use of it though. It must be noted though, that Barbarians will have much more HP and Rage. The F/T/C requires more management too, since you have to cast several spells before you attain immunity. I still find it inane though, that you can heal through physical damage... ... "Hit me Balthazar! Hit me! Heal me!" ![]() |
