Dungeon Seige and maybe Divine Divinity of those games to be released soon. NWN when it comes out, of course. Those should be pretty good choices, especially since the first too are coming out fairly soon.

Encard, could you please enlighten me on what Divine Divinity is?
![]() Ziroc, thanks for the links, Dungeon Siege looks really nice. And I'm fond of that idea of using packmules ![]() Quote:
It is funny but my dislike of Arcanum was developed due SoA-TOB - after such a magnificent game any comparison was not to the benefit of Arcanum. Basically, Arcanum is something like Fallout taking place in the beginning of 20th century plus magic - but IMO Fallout was far, far better (in combat, levelling up the characters and involving in the gameplay). There are NPC's you can take in your party, but nothing like *alive* NPC's from SoA. No NPC's interactions (well, you can say a couple of words to them - like it was in Fallout). Dialogues are nothing like brilliant conversations in SoA, they are just... well... getting information. May be I should stop whinning, it was only demo actually... But that awful map screen, strange graphics, movement bugs... Of course, Arcanum HAS its own pluses - but they are fading while comparing to SoA. ![]() ------------------ Tanda, with best regards from Guild of Assassins |

Avoid everquest at all costs
its game play sucks most of its quests are boring for most people who play the game, you play it as item/level quest and not quest quest and its hard to roleplay in that game, if you take a roleplay stance, people will ostracise you most big guilds exist for one reason: to get cool items, and the people in those guilds are constantly pissed off about how they didnt get item1 over person B when they do yada yada and person b does nada etc etc, or other situations like that anyhow If you are gonna play it anyway, then i suggest you play as a class that doesnt need uber equipment to be effective (druids, monks, wizards etc) |

Tanada -
it doesn't sound like your whinning - sounds like grade A legit Beef (paticularly on NPC dialogue). It is possible though that they have done more since the demo. |

The worst part about games like EverCrap is the people. Most people you meet online are certifiable, grade A , iceholes. The game concept looks good on paper, but when you add people, everything goes straight to somewhere hot in a handbasket. Games like say, (dare I say it) Diablo and other assorted Blizzard games are more tolerable online, because you can play with your friends and kick the pricks off the server. Evercrap however, there's just no avoiding them.
I haven't had the gumption to go out and get Max Payne, but it looks nice in severe way. Is Black and White down to 20 bucks in anyone's area yet ? I want to try it, but I'm just waiting for the price drop. ------------------ Death comes for you, FEEL IT'S ICY TOUCH |

Hi, if any of you plan on playing Everquest, there are some points you should consider. This isn't to discourage you, by the way. It's a great game, if you have the time.
S P O I L E R (in a way) there are four base classes in Everquest, out of 12 i think, which will always be needed. Warriors, Clerics, Enchanters, and Rogues. Magicians, Necromancers(my fav), Rangers, Paladins, Shadow Knights, Wizards (my main character), Bards, Shamen, Monks, and Druids are those "would be nice to have" classes. Unlike BG saga, when you chose a wizard you won't get the same as a mage in BG. a Wizard in Everquest serves one main purpose: Deal lots of damage fast.(they also get to teleport all over the place and "bind") However, EQ staff did not develop this character well. Baldur's Gate has many, many items to improve a mage's efficiency. EQ has one. items that increase your mana pool. There are no items that will reduce the cost of spells, the casting time of spells, etc. In all games i played a play a wizard, EQ was no exception. I love my character, however plz consider that classes in EQ are not as balanced as they are in BG. Also, playing warriors is even more boring then in BG. Once again, this is not to discourage you from Everquest, just a foreshadowing of things to come. Enjoy! P.S. If you plan on starting EQ, check out the Morell Thule server. I'm Ianarie, lvl 38 wizzie - Nuker, Cabbie, Life Saver. P.P.S. Druids are a LOT more powerful then in BG. ------------------ ~ One by one, the penguins are stealing my sanity ~ |

"Wow - Dungeon Siege looks really, REALLY good. Hope the roleplaying will be solid like the graphics are. "
If you think Diablo 2 has good roleplaying then you will be happy. |
