ok i've completed Throne of Bhaal and i just have to finish my write up and get round to posting it.
Here are some helpful tips for a solo mage in the BG2 stages: * stoneskin and spirit armour are buffs that should be applied every time you wake from rest * spell triggers and sequencers can be memorised then created in your inventory and then memorise another spell. This means you have all your spells as well as a sequencer up your sleeve * use ranged attacks from slings between spells. Boots of speed help keep your distance from enemies while casting spells. melfs minute meteors are great fire power! * skull trap and ADHW are awesome powerful spells * amulet of power and robes of vecna combine to make spell casting instant. This makes things alot easier but not necessary. In this acount i ended chapter 6 without using the robes of vecna * Master the timestop assult (TSA) that i outline in TOB. Freeze time, cast alacrity, lower the resistance of your enemy x3 and cast 4 ADHW. Done properly nothing can survive this! * staff of the magi's invisibilty means you can skip thru dull areas such as firkraags dungeon and just face him. * get the outfitting with rings and all to max your spells * have the buffs: spell turning, prot from mag energy, prot normal weapons, prot magic weapons available to you. (i didn't use prot from energy in the whole saga as i think it is cheesy) * have dispelling spells: spell strike, warding whip, pierce magic, breach and remove magic to rival enemy mages. * summonings make great bait. Skeletons are tough and have a great duration. most enemies can't even HARM morderkein's swords making them great! * remember that the mage is versitile and i have proven EVERY BATTLE IS POSSIBLE through the whole saga! from BG to the end of TOB. Look out for my thread in TOB probably coming in a week. Thanks so much for reading. I hope this has inspired some other solo efforts. Any feedback for the layout i have used? |
