Um, well, there are two weaopns in the game that deserve the title of "mini-Carsomyr," of which the Two-Handed Sword, the Flame of the North, is found in Spellhold, and the Bastard Sword, Purifier, is found in Watcher's Keep.

I find it difficult to get too excited about the Purifier.

In unusual circumstances it has a use, such as;

• A Wizard Slayer - Thief dual class with UAI looking for extra magic resistance while still wishing to dual weild, or
• A party with multiple Paladins, or
• A party with a Paladin that's headed quickly to Watcher's Keep before accessing Carsomyr.

Generally I find that in a typical game that there are usually better options for general play, such as the Flail or the Katana, and in mage fights you just may as well use the Holy Avenger anyway.

Admittedly I practically never play with parties larger than four, and Bastard Swords aren't high on my list of priorities for early proficiency points (although there's another Bastard Sword that is super-good when upgaded in ToB, so points do go there later on in the game).

I'm not suggesting that it's never useful, and certainly against Chaotic Evil opponents it delivers serious damage (10 to 18 plus strength bonuses), but I'd rate it about on par with The Equaliser as a technically useful weapon that I almost never end up using in practice.
