Yeah, but their charisma isn't below that of a mustard jelly. I don't think anyone with a Charisma below four would be able to function.

Some systems (ADoM jumps to my mind) separates Appereance and Charisma for the same reason. It's a bit difficult to make out. How much of the CHA score is looks and how much is personality? The way I see it CHA is an average of the two. If you have 3 you are both ugly and obnoxious, but I see nothing wrong in a 9 CHA enchantress of stunning beauty (16) and extremely cruel and selfish behaviour (2). It gives the players something to work with when they develop the character concept for their Pn'P PC.
Still I consider it a silly way to perish. I think the thread of thoughts that leads to insanity and self-destructive behaviour as the causal may hold some of the truth. The character is not dead per se. It is simply unplayable.

::nods:: I'll accept "unplayable"... A character with a 0 Wisdom score would likewise be unplayable, gibbering madly in a corner somewhere. And yes, CHA *is* an average of the two.. Part of me would prefer it be split up... it'd be easier that way, and cause less arguments.

(Edit) ::drops glass and screams:: EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

You aren't the only one being slightly annoyed there Illumina. I hate when the avatars change. You've just gotten used to the previous image and correllate it to the poster. Suddenly it changes and you go "hey who's that responding". For a second. Still annoying.
On the subject of the amoeba level intelligence exhibited by far too many I can only say we have become spoiled. The lack of demands on people breeds indifference, and indifference leads to ignorance. I don't think that whoever wrote that message is incapable of learning how to spell properly - I think he or she doesn't care. Which is even worse.
