I normaly keep charname at the top, simply so when I pick a formation I'll know exactly where (s)he will be in that formation..

I like the triangle and T formations, they keep everyone where I need them, support chars behind and so less likey to be picked on while casting buff's and heals.

About 90% of my games I'm not the party leader, I usually leave to a paladin, since they have high charisma naturally (freeing up a ring slot) and can handle being first into a battle. I tend to make my main character spellcasters, which are things that I have always personally believed were badly represented by the Bioware NPC's. Don't kill me, it's just an opinion!

I think thieves are much worse represented by Bioware. You've got a choice of 4, 2 of which are dual classed to mages so they can't improve, 1 who ditches you whether you like it or not, and another who can be incredibly annoying (imo) after a while. Mind you, I suppose I don't ever hardly need a theif whenever I play...

I always have charname at the front, then Minsc down to Aerie. (Charname, Fighters, Clerics, Thieves, Mages basically)

I either have one of these formations.

I just think it is easier. At battles they can be where they need to be before the enemy reacts anyway.

I usually stick the guy with the highest Charisma as the leader.
