I'm a RPG player from wayyyy back(early 80's) and my favorite series was the Might and Magic RPG's. When MM9 came out and was such a stinker, I went to the store and got BG1 from the bargain bin. Good deal!

I bought the original BG more out of a hunch, but getting hooked on it, I decided to by BG2. That's about it.

I read a magazine (probably PC Gamer) where they had 100 best games ever. And knew most of the top 10 but never played BG or BG2. So asked my friend who owns a computer shop (and he already had a DSL line; in those times they were rare here) to download a demo of BG2 for me. From then on, I'm hooked.

I originally got the game from recommendation. I never played BGI and hadn’t really heard anything about the second one. I have always been a big fan of RPGs and was looking for a good one to play. I asked for any recommendations and I was given Baldur's Gate II, so, I thought I would give it a try and low and behold I loved it

I've always been into RPG's (Bard's Tale, Wizardry, Ultima, Eye of the Beholder, and others) but got my real start in P&P D&D. When I bought my Dell a few years ago they had a "extreme gaming" game-pack that I added to my purchase that included SOA. I'd heard good things about both it and a couple of the other games in that game-pack from friends and game websites, so figured it would be a good deal. After having so much fun with SOA, I requested and received TOB as a present months later. Funny thing is, SOA is still the only game I've played from that game-pack. Black & White, one of the Command & Conquer games, and something else was on it. I've heard good things about both (especially Black & White) and I'm sure I will get around to them eventually.

Haven't played BGI and don't really plan to, but if I do wind up doing so BGI Tutu sounds like the way to do it.

Me brudder got BGI, I palyed it for a while, and thought it was too hard. I couldn't get used to the control. A year later, I tried it again. And this time, I just got the hang of it. What surprised me was the immense attention made into that game, every nook and cranny is filled with detail. And the roleplay aspect was something attracting me, I'm a roleplayer by heart. Then when BGII came out, I had to wait till my father bought a better pc. Then i immediately bought it, and was stunned. The beauty of it compared to BGI, the character diversity. DUALWIELDING

So I got hooked, and played it for five years.

Saw BG collectors edtion (the old one) in a shop, bought it there and then because it was less than I'd seen it elsewhere and maybe 6 months before that I'd read a preview or review for it in some games mag.

Got BG2 for my birthday that year, and got myself ToB when it came out..

Back when I played Diablo nonstop, one of my Diablo friends told me about BG1, which I eventually purchased. Next year, I bought BG2, again, on his recommendation. Then I found IW and started playing both games nonstop. I brought that friend to IW and got him playing the Icewind Dale series. Now I'm working on Planescape.
