The name of the spell you are referring to, IIRC, is Nahjal's Reckless Dweomer.

It says in the spells description that it deliberately creates a wild surge wich your mage then tries to shape into the desired spell. Since it is a planned surge your spellcasting level plus the bonus from the Chaos Shield spell are added to the wild surge roll. There are 100 different outcomes to this roll. So use carefully...

Theres a cheat to change it so you can only cast a certain wild surge, you know. I forget what it is though.

It was Ctrl-H. And it affected everyone, including non-wildmages. All magic would have that wild-surge effect.

One of these days, I'll use that to make all spells into Cowdrop. That'll be fun, at least until I try to heal.

It'll give you a message saying "Surge Number is X" X is whatever the surge number was previously + 1. (If you've never used this before Then your surge # is zero) It will reset after loading.

load up haer in the creature file viewer, then look at the hex value of his outfit, and change that to the character you want...

i once changed skin, hair, and clothing to the same garish color scheme of jan's clothing, and everyone looked like really disco magic golems...
