Why does noone like anomen? - Page 2

People love Edwin and hate Anomen for similar reasons. Edwin is extremely sarcastic and never stops mocking people and things. Anomen is a humorless, self-righteous and arrogant fop unless you romance him.

I dunno, I like Fanon!Edwin from laufey's In the Cards, who is sarcastic, amusing and Really Quite Sweet. Anomen, however...

Well, his voice is annoying, and his portrait looks...silly. He's not a good cleric, either.

Easy to aqquire early in the game,and he makes a good early tank.Then you pickup Keldorn or Korgan and Anomen falls into the mists if time...

Get him Grandmastery in slings, then Holy power + Righteous magic + maybe Improved Haste from someone and Archers can go home.

Give Anomen gauntlets of dex and then = Anomen > All.

Anomen rocks! He is my favourite character, both statistic wise and character wise. And I hate Edwin as well, I can't stand him. And what's everyone's problem with Jan? Just continuously hit 'Continue' the whizz pass his idle whittering and in exchange you get a kickass thief/mage. And Cernd? Boost his dex and he rocks. Achieve Greater Werewolf and he owns.

...and Crom Faeyr. He can be a great fighter if you use him right, but he can also get annoying. I remember he got less annoying after he became a knight though.

I like Anomen, he is my anti-undead guy. I give him Flail of Ages, Mace of Disruption, and Wyyvern Tail and he can be OK. He can turn undead, cast 'false dawn,' 'searing orb,' and 'lesser restoration'. He can hold his own in a fight, so I prefer him to viconia. After the underdark I dump him, though.

My favorite quote is this, 'Your blood shall stain my blade yet, gnome.' He can't use blades.

I like what he brings to the party. I can do without his personality (Edwin and Jan also annoy me). He is solid in tanking, can put 5 stars in weapons, etc. And he's usually of a high enough level starting out (often the highest in the party) to make him the strongest person in your party. Once he get's his "improvement", he's also a good cleric. However, he's also extremely pompous and arrogant (things I really despise in people); Edwin also falls in that category, so I don't like him much, either.

I usually play all-good, so Anomen usually finds his way into my parties, just based on his abilities (definitely not personality).
