The best way to kill them is to get a fighter and equip him with cloak that gives spell turning. the beholders will kill themselves. the only spell that wont reflect is imprisonment. gauths usaully kill themselves, beholders get turned to stone.

Or the shield of Balduran can be used, although both are complete cheese, and the cloak of reflection has been made weaker if you've installed ToB.
BTW, if you want to know what the good/evil path in this situation is, then SPOILERS ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ taking the cloak is the evil path while not taking it is the good path.

The trick to do the tears is to do them in the right order.
Get Blackrazor before the tear of fear. Even if you plan to give it to the Genie you can use it to cross the fear field safely and retrieve the tear before you do so. Also get the tear that gives immunity to normal weapons before you face the wraith of Sarevok. The wraith uses an ordinary bastard sword and is unable to hit the protagonist.
