I plan to have Firkraag drop it rather than Carsomyr.

I still think you need to tone down the bleeding. Make it shorter and/or give it a better save. If you really want to keep the 60dmg then make it 10dmg/sec for 6 seconds. 5 rounds of virtual paralysis is just too much.
I agree on the vorpal, it makes sense somehow.
To reflect the gravity of somebody carrying a sword imbued with that much evil which would only be trusted to the most noble paladins you could also give it a high Charisma requirement (18 or even 19).

I disagree with 19. You would need BG 1 for that and not everybody has BG 1.

Yeah, I meant to change that, but I forgot. I edited the post, and so far it sets at 4 hp/sec for 10 seconds.

What about a -1 to charisma instead? That's if I still keep it as an imbued sword. I have some different ideas I will likely flesh out tonight.

(BTW this would be the Cloak, the Plate or the Helmet as the Amulet is Priest only IIRC and you can't wield the Sword while holding another sword )

Another "version":

Trajen: Maldarr's Ruin
A paladin by the name of Trajo Rioak was summoned by a frustrated king to seek out the villainous wizard, Maldarr Lyranzen, who had been recently pillaging the surrounding lands. Trajo and his wife, Jéneri, quickly found Maldarr's enormous tower located somewhere in the Cloudpeak Mountains. Their quarry was found deep in the tower's lower levels, hundreds of feet below ground. Much to their dread, Trajo and Jéneri found a monstrous demon standing guard over Maldarr, and it was quite clear that this demon would defend its master at all costs. After an intense battle, Trajo found himself in the middle of the demon and Maldarr, with Jéneri unconscious. All standing were exhausted, but it was clear that this confrontation would only end in death.

With Trajo distracted and battling the vicious demon, Maldarr began chanting a a Lightning Bolt spell. Trajo now had the demon on its knees, and he was ready to land the final blow that would send the creature back to its own plane. As Trajo raised his blade, Maldarr completed his spell and fired his bolt of lightning at the paladin. Jéneri, barely recovering, called out to her husband, warning him of the vile wizard's spell. Trajo took noticed and shifted his positioning, still thrusting his blade into the heart of Maldarr's demon. The bolt of lightning struck the paladin's sword just as it struck the demon, and some very unexpected events occured thereafter. Trajo was in no way affected by the lightning bolt, and all electricity was focused into the demon, thereby disintegrating it. In the same instant, some of the electricity was reflected by the blade back at Maldarr, taking him off his feet. Trajo quickly landed a mortal blow to the evil wizard, effectively ending his reign of terror.

The blood of Maldarr's demon coated Trajo's holy avenger, giving not only resistance to magic to the wielder, but also sharpening the blade to the point that it has a chance to fatally wound an enemy in one single blow. It is also believed that the demon's blood allowed the weapon to absorb electrical properties from Maldarr's final attack.

Looks a bit better, more ..... balanced. You should make the sword and then try it out, see if it is too overpowered. And while your at it, build a whole new scenario on how to obtain the sword and give me a reason to play BG again

Or failing that, you could choose the Anti Paladin kit from the Tactics mod then:

* Take level drain ability down to 5%.
* Reduce base damage to 1d10.
* Add the ability protection from good.
* Reduce the chance of bleeding to 10% and remove the save penalty.

This should balance the weapon out somewhat, whilst still keeping it pretty powerful.
