Yes.

does this machine raise anything else? havent played much tob before but im planning on doing it

Every stat point by one, magic resistance by 5% and a rather nifty +3 weapon.

i don´t remember losing a point of dex in hell...is this really so?

It's possible to lose one off your dexterity, are you selfish or not?
you're talking about the selfish test...

cast spell immunity divination, either with a mage, or potion swap a scroll, and you will NOT lose the dex...

An exploit soon to be corrected by the next update of Baldurdash. Three cheers for Kevin Dorner.

I've found that the tomes of power can be clua'd into SoA, making it possible for you to set your stats to somthing that would be comparable to what they would have been, had you played through bg1 and imported your character. unfortunately, only the tomes for str, dex, con and int are funcional. the charisma and wisdom tomes don't work properly. anybody have any idea why that is?

Beats me--maybe you could load up Infinity Explorer or IEEP and examine them. Me, I simply saved myself a bunch of time by using IEEP to create the "Tome of Retroactive Convenience:" It only works once, and grants +1 STR, +1 DEX, +1 CON, +1 INT, +3 WIS, +1 CHA, and sets the user's EXP to 161,000. Sure beats playing BG1/ToSC all the way through every time I want to start a new game of BG2.

I'm only guessing here, but I seem to recall that certain Tomes would only work on certain classes which can be easily worked around with the "find-familiar-for-everybody-cheese"
Does "not working" mean that you can't put them in your quickslot? If so I think my theory applies.

you are indeed correct, potion swapping will indeed work on those "non-working" tomes...

and yes, by "not working" you can't put them into quickslots..
