Catti Brie is NOT Tansheron! (Chap. 6 Item Spoilers)

I think i just remembered the rest of the sentient sword's name. If I racall it's full name is actually "Khazid-hea: The Cutter" or something similar to that. I'd look it up, but my books are still packed up in boxes from my recent move. Also the sword itself is similar to Lilarcor in that it lusts for carnage and battle. However it is more devious than Lilarcor in that it will battle with the wielder to determine who is the master. At one point, the sword actually posessed(spelling?) Cattie-Brie in an attempt to lure Drizzt into wielding it. It's greatest wish is to be wielded by the best swordsman alive and it will alter it's appearance to make itself more appealing to the wielder, ie.-it's pommel was a demonic creature when Dantrag Baenre was in posession and altered itself to the form of a unicorn (symbol of Drizzt's god) to tempt Drizzt.

Whoa! A +4 Bow with exploding Lightning arrows? A one-handed vorpal Lilarcor? Let's not turn this into a Big Metal Unit parade, here. Items will be made to fit the spirit of the books, but will be tweaked to suit the power level of Chapter 6 if need be.

Also, I should note that the Item Balancing MOD does not add any new items to the game--it only changes certain items in the unMODded game. I don't remember Catti-Brie even having a sword at all, so I doubt Cutter will be implemented. But a +4 Bow with infinite phantasmal Arrows+1? That sounds decent.

Any feedback on the rest of their gear? Aegis Fang? Regis's Ruby Pendant? The funky spelling on that Mithral Field Plate?

I know that Bruenor has a shield or breastplate (can't quite remember what) with a foaming beer mug on it; resembling his clan [img]smile.gif[/img]

according to the Heroes Lorebook published some years ago,

Cattie Brie: the bow is a +3longbow with a quiver that never runs out of +1 flight arrows, and a dagger +1 (thrown as a +3 dagger) she also has elven chain mail.

Bruenor: Mithral Field Plate +2, a shield +1 (complete with foaming mug) and an axe +3 (hand axe if used one handed, battle axe if used two handed).

Regis: a +2luckstone, the ruby pendant (functions as a rod of beguiling) and a +2 mace.

Wulfgar: Skins that offer protection equal to studded leather, war hammer +5 (double base damage, as hammer of thunderbolts) (if anyone else uses the weapon it will only function as +3) it can be thrown and will reappear in WULFGAR and only Wulfgar's hand at will, if he is not present it will function as a standard thrown hammer, ie the user will have to go pick it up.

Drizzt: Mithral chain +4, a frostbrand +3 (IcingDeath after the dragon he killed to get it), Defender +5 (SoS I know you disagree with it being called that ), Figurine of Wondrous Power (Onyx Panther), species enemy is goblins.

As far as I can remember right now (I don't know the novels by heart):
Drizzt's equipment:
Twinkle, a scimitar given to him by Malchor Harpell. Can emit a blue light by Drizzt's will.
Icingdeath, a +3 Frostbrand (which turns into a +6 when dealing with fire creatures), it is a scimitar he found in the lair of Ingeloakastimizilian (this name I do know by heart [img]smile.gif[/img] ). The sword bestowed him fire resistance! He was invulnerable to the flames of the demon Errtu because of the sword.
Bracers of Speed (that he wields as anklets).
Onyx Figurine that summons a panther Guenhwyvar from the Astral Plane. She cannot be killed on the material plane.
Drizzt shouldn't have any Magic Resistncec, because it disappears on the surface.

Bruenor's Equipment:
Notched Axe, not enchanted as far as I know.
Dented helmet, which he prefers over crown. Not enchanted.

Wulfgar's equipment:
Aegis Fang, a heavily enchanted warhammer given to him by his father, Bruenor. Once thrown, the hammer returns to its wielder's grip when called for. It is capable of dealing tremendous amounts of damage.

Catti-Brie's equipmnent:
Taulmaril the Heartseeker, the longbow found in the dwarven stronghold, Mithril Hall, in the ruined Hall of Dumathoin (a sort of museum). Its quiver replenishes the number of arrows to twenty.
Khazid'hea (the Cutter), a sentient sword.

Regis' equipment:
Amulet that charms people and giants (so it is not a Charm Person spell).

Catti Brie will wield Taulmaril+3, a +3 Longbow that shoots infinite phantasmal Arrows+1.

Regis's Ruby Pendant will cast Charm_Gianthumanoid at the same time as Charm_Humanoid, and confer Luck while equipped.

Other items may be changed in future versions of Item Balancing.

Why not use Dire Charm?

You probably didn't read far in the Drizzt series if you never Saw Cattie Brie's sword.

I've read all of the drizzt books except Thousand Orcs, but the Heroes Lorebook was written before drizzt got his anklets/bracers of speed, and cattie brie got her sword.

Perhaps you have overlooked my subtle hint: the Frostbrand should grant Fire Resistance. Lots of it. There are (at least) four occassions in the novels where this ability is very obvious.
