Custom parties would seem like the way to go.

I have my stats party: They all have 18 in one stat and 9 in the rest.

A fighter with 18 STR

A thief with 18 DEX

A barbarian with 18 CON.

A wizard with 18 INT.

A cleric with 18 WIS.

And a sorcerer with 18 CHA.

I guess they will grow powerful enough over time though.

Actuall a Kensai would be a bigger challenge IMO,becuase he cannot use ANY armor, while the generic fighter can!

The AC of a kensai can be lowered far enough w/o the aid of gauntlets or armor. And having armor only helps in the beginning of the game were the enemies have high THAC0. later on, the benefits of being a kensai (which is the best fighter) far outweighs its disadvantage. IMO, a generic fighter is much more difficult to play then a kensai.

The same reason I dualed a berserker to a thief, an abjurer to a fighter, a kensai to a druid, and a beast master to a cleric. Puts something new into the game. (Especially the abjurer/fighter. )
