There is a location where you can always find a scroll of Mordenkainen's Sword, and no, it is not from a merchant. My memory is very fuzzy on this, since I vastly prefer to play with Sorcerers, but I believe that Bodhi's Gauntlet contains one.

Where then? because I never saw a Mordenkainen Sword Scroll in the Gauntlet... There are several scrolls that are always there (Simulacrum, Delayed Blast Fireball, Limited Wish IIRC)
Care to enlighten us?

Every time I play, I find one Mordenkainen's Sword scroll in the Planar Sphere, in the chest in the Engine Room, where the power golem is. Fireball-trapped one, if anybody cares [img]smile.gif[/img]

All I remember and know is, everytime I have a Mage in the party, I always had have Mordenkainen's Sword( and it is definitely not because I bought it from an Underdark Merchant) handy to slice up the Mind Flayers in the Underdark. Exact location? I wish I knew. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

I do believe that the items in game are very dependent on your maincharacters jobdescription i.e. a sorcerer or mage has greater chance of findeing high levl scrolls than a thief or a fighter would?
Its just my little thought so don´t know if it is right but think so...

And still I have found the scroll in Planar Sphere both with my solo mages/sorcerers and my party berserker, and even with a party paladin.
