Can't one just run and skip out many of the baddies? Although after a while doesn't your characters start to request to go somewhere, this way or that way...and I mean Aerie...she wants to do more than just that...

well, if you get to chapter 3 in 17- hours, than those quests wont have time to trigger.

I've read somewhere that someone has solo'ed the game in 9 game days, and some hours. I think it's in the GameBanshee forum...

Ive noticed a bit of time-warping going on here too, as it used to take me several (game)days to leave the dungeon, yet the clock always wound back once I left.

[*]There is enough money in Jon's Dungeon and the Promenade to amass 15000 gold before even starting Chapter 2. In fact, you can do it without even doing the Circus Tent or pickpocketing folks. You'll have to sell off a lot of equipment, but not the really useful stuff such as the Helm of Balduran.
one word... "where?"
I dont think I could find 15000 in those 2 maps even WITH pickpocketting ! and the best shop to steal from... you cant steal from

finally, Ive never tried doing a speed run through balders gate... it just doesnt strike me as that kind of game. Although, my best friend and I always used to go for time records on old games like Mario etc

The only thing I can think of is Mencar Pebblecrusher and his party, though I very much doubt that they loot off 10000 +.

Dagger +1 - 90
Long Sword +1 - 325
Staff +1 - 150
Amulet of Metaspell Influence - 540
About 15 Extra Healing Potions - 2025
About 20 Minor Healing Potions - 500
Two Handed Sword +2 - 900
Conjure Air Elemental - 600
2x Fireball - 450
Mail of the Dead - 1500
Pearl Necklace - 300
Girdle of Crushing - 450
Girdle of Piercing - 450
Full Plate - 1500
Potion of Fire Giant Strength - 225
Leather Armor +1 - 450
Short Sword +1 - 160
Ring of Invisibility - 3600
Cloak of Non-Detection 300
Sword of Berserkering +3 - 375
War Hammer +1 - 450
Ring of Human Influence - 1200
Various low prices scrolls - 1300

= 17840 GP

This is just off the top of my head, probably forgot a few items and some of the prices might be a bit off. But as you can see, even in the unmodded version, it's not very tough to get more than 15000 GP. Removing the items from the Circus tent drops the total toll by about 2000 GP, still well over 15k though. Don't forget that there are loads of money piles in Irenicus dungeon and the Promenade as well, probably amounts to more than 1000 GP just that.

You can easily raise more than 100 000 GP in Waukeen's Promenade if you count Pick-pocketed items. The Fletcher has loads of very expensive arrows, and the smithy right next to him has quite a few valuable armors and shields as well, he's got a very high negative Pick-pocket modifier though. You need 160+ to safely steal from him and that might be hard to accomplish without stacking Potions of Master Thievery. Stealing every single scroll the two scroll merchants in the Promenade has to offer can net you about 30 000 GP, and Jayes himself have a few high level scrolls and other nice items, though you'll have to sell them outside the Promenade.

Yep he does, would be hard to earn any money by pick-pocketing if he didn't. Do you really want to sell his own items back to him though? You could obviously make unlimited cash with this method, but what real-life merchant would be that bloody stupid? I try to keep at least some sense of realism

Jayes isn't all that obscure... I thought he was common knowledge. And, indeed, he does accept stolen goods. Trivia question: Name all the merchants in the game that would buy stolen goods.
