(back from planning)

Hey, does spell failure work if I dual class him to mage and then use MMM or that HLA ability (energy stuff) ?

If that is true ...

Why is it a bad idea? The idea of enemy spellcasters( both arcane and priestly) screaming in frustration from constant spellcasting failure amuses me. Ranged combat also migates most the the Wizard Slayer's penalties.

The Wizard Slayer's ability bypasses Stoneskins, Mirror Image, etc... The only way to block it is to use Protection from Magical/Normal Weapons, the Mantle spells and Protection from Normal Missiles.

A Lich can cast a thousand Flame Arrows... but if they all fizzle, where is the danger?

Yes. Although... I always fancied the WS->Mage to be Chaotic Neutral and totally insane.

About BAD idea - it was meant for the opponents - it is a very cheesy idea - actually one of the new ones - refreshing.

And if MMM's also work for the spell failure, then:

Time stop, 10 hits with MMM or energy blades - and useless spell caster.

Hmm, I can see my self hitting Jonny Boy in a time stop ...

Is this spell failure permanent ?

Ah... I have no idea how long the effect lasts, since I have never bothered to time it, but I do know that it at least lasts for a few rounds.

Berserker -> cleric. The chaotic evil answer to a paladin.

I've had such a "Paladin of Talos" once.

And about the Wizard Slayer -> Mage: What about a Tiax-like guy who think he is the only one who should be allowed to wield magic?
