There is a lich in the Graveyard District, Nevaziah is in the lower tombs, he is related to Edwins Nether Scroll Quest.
Though this is the weakest Lich that I have encounterd in BG II SoA.

In my calculation there are 6 liches in Athkalta: (spoilers will follow) * Kangaxx: Docks District Nevaziah: Graveyard District, Lower Tombs. Elemental Lich: Bridge District, Same house as the Twisted Rune. Shade Lich: Temple District, Sewers, Old Tunnels. Shangalar: Bridge District, Twisted Rune. Lich #1: Gate District, Crooked Crane. * Euhh... why do they even have Cowled Wizards? when there is a small army of Liches in Athkatla? *sigh*

I was counting Kangaxx, he counts as two if you make the distinction between his lich and demilich form.

I stand corrected, not four but six liches (apologies for forgetting the demilich and the one in the graveyard secondary tomb). By the way its is a mark of passage when you beat your first lich.

LICH SPOILERS AHEAD! . . . Ahoy, mateys, there be liches in them thar waters, yar, yar.... . . . The first lich I ever saw in the game was Bob in the Crooked Crane. His name is Bob because a dumb lich needs a dumb name. The first time I met Bob I freaked out because I'd never seen a lich before. But the second time I needed to beat him, I figured out how stupid he was. Someone (Link?) mentioned this already, but Bob casts protection spells, Time Stop, then during that Time Stop casts Meteor Swarm on the closest person, then PFE/Gate. If the meteors didn't take care of the Pit Fiend, the Pit Fiend would take care of Bob. That left my party to make bets and take gear when all was over. (I can understand why a lich would be guarding Daystar. Don't bad guys usually guard the one thing that can destroy them so adventuring types like me can't take it from them? Not without a fight, that is. I'm wondering why Bob got this duty. Was he last in line when all the gear was assigned? I can see Kangaxx now... "Deirex, you take the gems...Jim, Ray, you get the body parts...Shang, take this gold and give this staff to your mage minx...I'll keep the ring and Bob...Bob? Bob...meh. Somebody leave this sword for him for when he gets here. Maybe he'll trip on it and save us the trouble of killing him...) Shangalar was by accident. I was poking around to solve the red cloth mystery and opened the wrong door. Even for a last-minute buff, the battle wasn't too hard. My party just took on two dragons, was pretty psyched. The minions that Shangalar called were more difficult than he was. Problem was, Shang never wanted to move from his center pedestal. Quite a problem if you wanted his cash. I finally looked up how much he was worth and CLUA-ed in the amount. Killed him fair and square with arrows and bullets. Nothing else gave me problems except the damn Pit Fiend the mage summoned. Ol' Fiendish ripped through its summoner, the beholder, and started chasing Rochelie around and around the room. Rochelie had been fighting the disappearing/reappearing thief at this point, and had pretty low HP. I couldn't stop to drink because the Fiend would get me, so I led it on a merry chase while my archers and my stone-throwers pegged it down. Jim was speedbump #1, and Ray was speedbump #2. Wrong door #2 in the red cloth mystery. After fighting (har!) Shangalar, I figured I was in for it. Jim appeared, and not even two rounds later he was toast. Four critical hits might've had something to do with it. Later, Ray was another grease patch. I didn't even buff. Why bother. Keldorn, get in here with that true sight/dispel magic/Carsomyr action. Oh yeah. I'm not even going to bother updating the MoD. Keldorn is GOD. All hail the king. ![]() Kangaxx is next, but that waits until chapter 6. I don't think he's going to be a pushover, but I think he's going to be easier than the horror everyone makes him out to be. This might be the rite of passage, I dunno.

A little background story.
Jim and Ray are actually good Liches. They were part of the group that defeated Kangaxx and became Arch-Liches so that they could forever guard the things that can revive Kangaxx. |

But they attack you anyway, so technically they're the bad guys

In the centuries they guarded Kangaxx his bone's there have been many adventurers who have come to look for the remains of Kangaxx, to assemble him and revive him so they can have tons of gold (what Kangaxx promessis), they attack because they think you are in league with Kangaxx, they have sworn to protect the remains of him... so they attack.
What make's you different from any other group of adventure's they have slaughterd because they where in search of Kangaxx his bone's? nothing, so to prevent those bone's comming in the wrong hands they attack. They are good, because they know who Kangaxx is and what kind of chaos and death he can produce with his mighty powers. They are guardians, to prevent evil himself to return to the world and spawn chaos and death everywhere he goes. So no, technicly you are the bad guy, because you aren't suppose to be there... and you shouldn't have pulled the trigger, remember the warning signs on there tombs? Did you read them?....
