Best find in the fun house

Since when have the items been random? I've gotten the same boring crap in the dungeon everytime, so often I have nearly memorized where they are. Strongest scroll I've ever recieved, err or found is Fireball.

Every once in a great while on one of the dead goblins (like the ones in the corridor north of the djinn that asks you the moral question) you find a random item - like for me usually it's an Identify scroll, but once I found a Pierce Magic - and I think I read someone (or maybe it was me???) actually found a TimeStop but I can't remember for sure

Ohhh, the *goblins*. See, I just kill them and get out of the dungeon as fast as I can. Big mistake maybe, eh?

Nah, not really a *mistake* - I must have played the first dungeon part about, what, 15 times, and it's only a couple of times I found anything really special... they may have some semi-precious gems but they take up inventory. Probably the most valuable thing they carry that's worth selling are their composite long bows. I've never found special armor, wands, or other items on the goblins yet. Just the occasional high-level scroll so far.

It's possible to get random stuff from some of the containers in the starting dungeon. Best thing I ever got was a scroll of Summon Cacofiend in the bookshelf in the Mephit portal room.

As for me, I haven't found anything special in that dungeon at all. Just the usual stuff.

A scroll of Mordenkain's Sword is the best I recall finding in Irenicus's dungeon... I think that also came from the bookshelf in the Mephit room. Too bad it was a solo F/M/T that will not be able to cast 7th level spells unless (until) I get TOB. I've found level 6 scrolls a few times, most commonly on dead goblins (Summon Nishruu and Pierce Magic I think more than once each). I think I found Pierce Shield (level 8) once, probably also on a goblin.

i usually get the same crap, the only stuff i pick up is one weapon for each char pretty much, gems, arrows, the ring of pretection +1, girdle of bluntness, sword of chaos +2, metaspell amulet, and the helm of balduran. i dont even get the wands anymore. its only 1 charge.
