Anybody else annoyed by this?

Generally... when one wants Imoen in his/her party. You set sail at level 11-12, so that when you meet Imoen, she will be around your level, if not match it. I have had Imoen hit the SoA XP Cap before Chapter 7 in a party of SIX without using any cheats.

It actually brings a new flavor to the game when you go to the asylum early in the game. when you hit the surface again, and start going to the places you havent done yet, well, lets just say it might suprise you. I once went to the Temple Ruins right before Suldanesselar. Boy, i thought it had something to do with me switching to core rules(from normal).

I pick her up out of obligation (even if i'm evil) and wear the xp difference. IMHO there's not a lot of places in the game where a weak sixth party member will hinder you so long as you position your party correctly. That and lending her all those twink items should see her safely out of trouble. There are, however, plenty of times when an extra spell/bow caster does come in handy. And, i mean, C'mon! She's your sister, man!

Why should you cheat? It kinda makes sense that she's lagging behind XP-wise; of course her XP will have a boost because of the terrible experiences in the meantime, but she didn't do all of the quests you and your party have done. And why always approach situations from a powergamers-perspective? What's so bad about taking a character along that's a few levels lower than you? After taking her along for a while, you'd hardly even notice this difference anymore.

generally do whatever makes the game the most fun for you. If you want a party of gods, do it. whatever is most fun for you.

exactly ! ..... i dont understand all this stuff about cheating, who cares !!
if the guy enjoys the game that way go for it. its his life , his business , his game.

only editing ive done is change my necro in a conjurer , after having gone thru jon's funhouse for the 3rd time with a different specialist mage. and changed me from neutral to evil at the same time. but thats because its still my first game (well i played till the underdark... then restarted with a new party)

and when yoshimo disappeared from the coronet because of some weird bug(he shouldve been there) while i was ready to go to spellhold, i clua'd yoshimo infront of the coronet cuz i wanted him with me.
i dont feel like its cheating, and i enjoy the game, so who cares.

when ive finished the game im prolly gonna try some cheats to finally kill f*ck nut i mean arkanis gath.

heh....im actually doing that right now, im not noticing any difference so far tho, but i only just killed the shadow jailor.

i also just kicked imoen out after giving her the benefit of the doubt because my sense of duty.
tho now im considering killing her if that will help my chances to cast level 9 spells before the xp cap hits, il just roleplay that i suddenly turn in the slayer and cant controll my self,,,,,, NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO imoen !!.
then i block it from my mind.
