the drow items are not really +5. they are made of a special kind of metal only found in the underdark, and thus they are not that special. oh, they allso crumble to dust after leaving the underdark (somehow the sun can reach them in your bag of holding).

there is a way to keep your adamantine items, though, without cheating, but it surely is bug abuse.

either export your character with a load of the crap in his inventory (it should work, i never tried it), or dump a character from your party in the underdark. if you pick him up later, he or she will still have all the equipment they had. (so tell them to go home).

No, no bugs, but the way BioWare made it was, in someones opinions, too cheese. I kinda agree, spell damage reflection is not to be considered too lightly.

The original version of the Cloak took all offensive spells that were targeted directly at you (such as Magic Missile, Flame Arrow, Lightning Bolt, etc.) and reflected them right back at the enemy. It was, essentially, permanent non-dispellable Spell Turning, and made the game WAY too easy, as any character could just walk into a room full of Mages and have them slaughter themselves on your Cloak, and you still get the EXP for all of them.

The "softer" version comes from installing ToB: Instead of reflecting the damage back at the original caster, the Cloak simply nullifies the spell, making it a defense-only item. Even so, its use its still looked upon as cheesy in certain situations, such as against Beholders.
