Well, you know, some times, you just gotta look good!

And since a Bard is all about style over substance, speaking from a role playing sense, why not.

Look good and be a damn good killer.

First off, there's not a dang thing wrong with a Blade swinging a Halberd, especially the Dragon's Breath. (Enemy Mage gets 1 spell per round, Bard gets 1 spell-disrupting attack per round. Coincidence?) But Thieves can use Staves in just the same fashion, and there's certainly no shortage of +3 (or better) Staves.

You're quite correct when you say that the Swashbuckler doesn't get the cool Spins that the Blade does--but the Swashbuckler doesn't even NEED the Spins, he's got a good AC and THAC0 already. Once he gets Use Any Item to finally get a good Shield (damn BioWare for not putting in *any* decent Bucklers), he'll have a better AC than your Tank, and can cheerfully put all of your spare scrolls of Stoneskin to good use.

You slightly underestimate Dual-Wielding, as it grants you the ability to take advantage of twice the amount of enchantments at the same time: Carsomyr is great, undoubtedly, but is it better than Celestial Fury combined with the Equalizer? I doubt it, and no Blade can ever hope to be as skilled at this setup as a Swashbuckler can. The Blade can use more weapons, yes, but don't put too much weight on that--sure, the ability to use the Flail of Ages is great, but you're nuts if you give the Flail to anyone other than a Warrior.

how are you guys doing all this tactics mode/insane soloing with a swashbuckler. isnt it like a pain to go through the early levels of the swashbukcler. im trying to solo swashbuckler right now on normal, and its not that easy. it is my first solo, however.

Give me some time, Jack is slowly plodding his way there. Easy life so far though... thanks to the spins.

Trivia of the day: Drink an Oil of Speed before Offensive Spin to gain an additional 2 attacks and abnormal movement speed. The OoS doubles your movement rate, OS doubles it again.

FFFFFF">DSlaytern] PParker, I have already warned you before about your language. This will be your second warning. A third offence would be considered defiance which will lead to suspension.
