Yoshimo is a decent thief but he would be better if at the beginning he had more points in pick locks and less in move silently. The fact that he

betrays you and you can't have him for the whole game is a major bummer. For that reason in my games I take Jan always. His gadgets that give him extra thief points help make him an excellent thief and his mage skills are very handy. Yoshimo isn't bad but I prefer Jan.

Omg Im glad I read this post, I wasnt aware of this. So this will like happen no matter what? In the asylum? But isnt that the same time u get imoen back? So u can just repleace Imoen with Yoshi, yes?

Yup, Brennihelvete, that's the way it works. Yosh is gone, but you do get Imoen. A win-win situation as far as I'm concerned. I missed not having Imoen around during Chapters 2 and 3.

What I usually do is keep Yoshimo till I get Jan - Unless I'm a thief myself...
But what seems sad to me is that when you have the choice of letting Imoen back in and do, Jan is forced to stay so I had Imoen leave - which seems wierd, how can she get free (and bohdi not pay attention to her) while any npc you leave there, has too stay, they can follow too can't they?

Big F****** deal [img]tongue.gif[/img] ,my party comprised of 2 mages,1 cleric,1 Paladin, 1 Berserker, & 1 Fighter/Ranger..the only thing my party cant do is disarm traps, then again i guess summons make great trap triggers

AHA! Well good thing Imoen is a mage/thief then. Thou I'll miss Yoshis special traps. They own greater wolfweres [img]smile.gif[/img] and make a short process of anything else anyway. So he will betray me hrmf. Does anyone exactly know when? Cuz know when I know in advance I'll strip off all his items and give him a quarter staff and a cursed scroll of stupidity just before he breaks off. Then he will learn what happens when he try to play smart with me!

Giving Yoshi a quarterstaff won't do any good because he gets another Yoshimo's katana +1 when he betrays you. I know that because once I left him with his katana he came after me with another copy of Yoshimo's katana +1. I think thats because it would be too painful if he would use a Celestial Fury in case if you forget to take it from him (That's what happened when I played BG the first time and I thought that I won't see the CF again after the betrayal.)
