I know I'm slow, but it sounds like you've got things well under control, DA. I'd suggest replacing hoses and belts while you're doing the initial bit, especially with a used engine. *speaks from experience* Be a real shame for them things ta go, just when ya thought it was all ready...

You're going to have to post pics when you get back and get it back...

If you are going to be a 63B, then by all means this is a long term project for you.

Which battalion and company will you be assigned to over at the 46th for basic?

Prepare for hot, humid weather here over the summer. Not skin blistering Texas hot, but the wet bulb will go black whilst you are here!

You will have limited time, but should get a couple family days whilst you are here. Post a note or PM me here when you get your first internet time and locked for family day. Maybe we can conduct link-up and meet over at the main PX at the food court, which seems to be a favorite drop point for the drills on family day duty.

I do not have any contacts at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Always remember it's nick name. "Ft. Lost in the Woods"!

Three rules:

1. Unless directly yelled at, take nothing personal, everybody is the same! You scum sucking maggot!
2. Drill sergeants really are human, but they need to weed, cultivate, and propagate the strong. The weak will fall on their own merit.
3. Not all "I need a volunteer" missions suck, most do, but occasionally, a good detail rolls along. Take it in stride, and never be over zealous when it comes to details.

Lastly, start now:
1. I will guard everything within the limits of my post and quit my post only when properly relieved.

2. I will obey my special orders and perform all of my duties in a military manner.

3. I will report violations of my special orders, emergencies, and anything not covered in my instructions to the commander of the relief.

AND:

I, (insert your name here), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

Good luck!
