Ranger blunt:
The Flail is good for the Rangers' blunt weapon: . . . . . 1. L3 of Dragon gets you a non-random stunner (+2) 2. L4 of Dragon gets you a random +1 attacker (+2) 3. L3 of Hand gets you a non-random +3 (elf killer as well) 4. Frost Giant Joril has a random Fire Flail (+3) Do the stunners' stun the Undead (seem strange if they do?) By the way...speaking of stun. Did you know that you can knock an opponent out if your Fighter types (or any I suppose--could depend on Strength) just use their fists! I slugged one of my beetles and his legs splayed out [made me laugh] in good ol' knockout fashion. |

Stunners do stun undead, as I recall. *Very* useful in the Severed Hand.
I wasn't aware that you could use fists to take out beasties, but it makes sense. The only time I've ever used my fists was by mistake.

Just got to Severed Hand, and I really WISH my Ranger had a blunt proficiency (just met serrated skeletons, oof!)

No one wants to discuss the Multiclassed Half-Elf Cleric/Ranger?

Sure, why not? I'd prefer to take the MC C/R over the DC, but the question was for DC.
You get the same proficiency selections and specialization level as you would with a DC C/R (if you want to be able to use those proficiencies once you dual). The HP loss isn't much, and you get to use Ranger and Cleric attributes throughout the entire game. One of my favourite multiclasses, especially with a small party. Makes a versatile tank.

C/R gets both Cleric and Druid spells. (ALL of them!)
C/R starts with 3* in Dual-Wielding and really makes a great Tank. |

Slight nitpick. The Cleric/Ranger does not get level 7 Druidic spells in IWD and erm... Xen. There is no Two Weapon Style in IWD, and furthermore, Rangers only start with 2* in Two Weapon Style in BG2.

Riiight. Sorry about that, but I haven`t played IWD/BG 2 for some time. I knew something wasn`t quite right.
