Actually John, for a sorc, you need to create a Charisma based character, as this is what their spells are based on. They use int for skill points. I'm not sure if they also use int for something else, but the spell level your caster can learn is based on their primary stat.... Int for wizard and Cha for sorc. it's based on a 10+ scale, where every point in their primary stat past 10 gives them that spell level, therefore a wizard with 16 int. can cast up to lvl 6 spells.... or a 16 charisma sorc can cast lvl 6 spells.
