We'll have to come up with some way t keep that from happening (preferably without hiring some bouncers...) Anyway, we've all had many pleasant experiences here, and I'm glad to be an IW member. No, I don't think spam will be an issue. I've seen the idea work elsewhere, as have Diogenes, Memnoch and others who are on Mithril Hall too (I'm IceAngel there) so I know it can work and just needs good, thoughtful and diplomatic moderators to keep things running smoothly. Z only takes on that kind of mod, so I think it will go just fine if it happens. I am still concerned about Memnochs ogre :0 See the size of that thing!
But on a straight note.. you all have been great! Remember, that even thow I may not respond to alot of threads ,I do read just about all of them. Please dont take my silence as a rejection type of thing. I think many others feel this way to. Thumbs up Saz! ------------------ *\Conan/* [This message has been edited by Conan (edited 09-07-2001).] |

well, i try to keep myself civil. thanx for not intervening when i made some of my... 'unusual' statements, mods! your trust for us is much better than any forum i go to, where they close any repeat thread and delete any controversial thread... *shudder* id like to thank IW in return for being such a cool forum, and for letting us talk without sticking your nose into every post, analyzing every message for something that could possibly be a flame, and just letting us be nearly as free with the tongue and words as we can (still a few off-limit words tho, and i respect those boundaries).
------------------ It's simple. Once the Planet is hurt, it gathers Spirit Energy to heal the injury. The amount of energy gathered depends on the size of the injury...What would happen if there was an injury that threatened the very life of the Planet? Think how much energy would be gathered! Ha, ha, ha. And at the center of that injury, wil be me. All that boundless energy will be mine. By merging with the energy of the Planet, I will be come a new life form, a new existence. Yep!
I'd like to offer a pat on the back and a job well done to the mods here! and to the way so many members do handle strange situations and how they forgive as well! And how members rebound when wills collide! and maybe a seperate thread is not a bad idea...but then... ...What i really like about the more serious threads being in general discussions is that the issues of the day are being raised to everyone...the younger posters or whomever may not be as interested in the topics of the day of the entire world! Living Breathing discussing our planet's serious events with one another may not get to see the light of everyones browsers. ...On another board some people may deign not to visit and so on and so forth. I know i miss out on all the Wizards and Warriors posts and even rarely go the BG2 one anymore. The headlines of the world are important and could be shuffled away to a lot of posters in another board. Do you know what i'm getting at? ...I like seeing the headlines in general discussions...and i have faith in the members of these forums and our excellent moderators to keep the rule: ~~~Clean Manners Everyone~~~! I for one don't like the setup of a seperate Serious discussions forum. I like the nature and flow of human conversation and that even in a serious thread, levity can occur and vice versa. Keep it free I say! There's more integration too I've found. I'm not a big fan of the Mithril setup.
But then that's just my opinion. I am sure my name is Canute and this is the ocean. ------------------ I am the walrus!.... er, no hang on.... A fair dinkum laughing Hyena! |

Saz, I'd just like to thank you. Even though my absence has been long, I have browsed many forums in that time.(none with a theme like IW)!!!
I just think it is nice to return to my home, and find out that the moderators are recognising good work on behalf of the members, and then voicing it. I think that is a real sight, and it makes me wish I had travelled the four days walk back home sooner. (which was impossible due to the Rvyak Bridge being marauded by trolls and wot-not). Thanx to you 2 Saz, |

Hey, I agree with the jumping egg.
It's the nature of humanity that seriousness and lightheartedness flow from one to the other. I quite like Mithril Hall - where I lurk and occasionally post, but I don't like the idea of separating out the so called 'serious' topics. I like to look down the page and switch between serious and 'other'- spare a thought for those of us with 56k modems - it takes ages to switch between the fora - minutes and minutes waiting for the topic page to load! If anyone doesn't like the political discussions, it's usually easy enough to see which they are so they can be avoided. ------------------ Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.
