oh WHOOPS i hadn't seen the post before that and it totally passed by me for some reason uhh yeah ok so yoru site is

http://members.lycos.co.uk/riddledude

i see you have the link on there and everything... good good

ok so now theres just one more thing you have to do...

when you uplaod something with webFTP, say it's a picture...
if the picture if a JPEG for example and the image was named "DUHfarmerjoe"

Then you would say

http://www.ironworksforum.com/DUHfarmerjoe.jpg

and it would work, have you uploaded any files?

also: try this link:

ftp://members.lycos.co.uk/riddledude

you might need it to acess your FTP index...

well, first of all, nothing is showing up on your site as being a series of things you've uplaoded, this means that your site isn't an index anymore, it has a page, unfortunetly this means more copying and pasting, from now on, if you ever upload any files using Web FTP you will have to copy and paste

http://members.lycos.co.uk/riddledude/

and then you will have to COPY the name of the item you are uploading and paste it after the URL

http://members.lycos.co.uk/riddledude/object name goes here.whatever

this also means that you will have to know what file type you're saving. if it's a Bitmap it will have to end with .bmp

if it's a JPG you will have to say .jpg

and one more important thing: these urls are CASE-SENSITIVE!

so if you want to host your own sig for example, lets do this as a trial, download the image to your disk. it should show up as deathkilleroriginal2224455 or deathkilleroriginal2224455.jpg

Copy the words from the title "deathkilleroriginal2224455.jpg" and then use the BB code and your web URL to make this code:

http://members.lycos.co.uk/riddledud...nal2224455.jpg (if there isn't a JPG ont he end of the URL you're typing in just add in one)

Now go to web FTP and UPLOAD deathkilleroriginal2224455.jpg (if there isn't a JPG on the end just upload it as it is anyway)

and to finally see if it works, place the URL between [img] and [/img]

and you should be able to see your own sig right here on Ironworks [img]tongue.gif[/img]

um did you try it? Just try uploading SOMETHING a picture or a sound file, and see if you can't make a link directly to it...

Wow thanks /)eathkiller! It actually worked! Yeah baby!

Edit: I have many new cool pics. Most of them are dragons, but I have unicorns and other mythical creatures, a female mage, a dinosaur, and a battle between two dudes with swords. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Wait- hmmm, it doesn't seem to be working.

On the 'edit' thing I edited my index.html file and added in this:
< a href="http://'www.adeathkilleroriginal2224455.jpg'>Willard
(minus the apostrophes and spaces) and created a link on my website, but when I click on the link it says "This Page Cannot Be Displayed" or something like that, but on WebFTP when I click on the file and click "preview file" it shows my sig? What is happening?
