I have a Canon which name I cannot remember (well, it´s blue/gray).. it prints out the photos well, but sometimes fails with really dark or white pictures. A good value deal of 70e..

Glad to hear your getting good service, Z. But I would characterize 500 scans in one year as "light service". I probably scanned 500 images the first week I had mine!

For the average person, 500 is a lot for a year or less It's also USB 2.0 and trucks along!! SO much faster than my old one.. amazing!

Ah, yes. USB2 fixes a lot of problems with the old USB standard. Firewire is still better though!

Thanks for the info everyone!

I might get a Canon. One of these models...

I don't know which one though. I don't want to spend more than $200.

http://www.canon.com.au/products/sca...um_volume.html

(prices are in Australian $$)

Out of those, which is the best for what I want to use it for?

Is it any good?

*Question*

If I want to scan my drawings and photos what would be a good resolution. Most of the cheaper ones are 600 x 1200 dpi. What does this mean?

Thanks

I own the flatbed canon, too. It's a lot better than the hp one I had before that.

Sorry to bump this back up - yes it´s good and real value, 70 bucks like I told earlier, but it may fail with really dark or light pictures.
