C'mon, Saz, you know I solo in games... so my next question is:

Can a first-timer solo this game, or is a party necessary the first time through...?

Hehehe,

I also went solo on my first try. I created an elf-wizard but I think warrior would be interesting.

Now, if you want a real challenge, try finishing the game in one single life. I.E: you can save only when you're done playing for the day. If your caracter dies, you start over with a new one.

This is VERY challenging. I bought this game in October. After about 15 attemps, I finally finished the game in one life about a month ago. It's fun and very rewarding.

Very intuative interface (I haven't cracked the manual yet) I created a character (Perin LightEye 9the "s" wouldn't fit), my Elven Ranger (Warrior in this game)). I thought you could play a ranger, tho...? I found the armoury, got a bow and arrows. Found Magic shop, but I'm broke.

My question is simple: Is there a known problem with the sound? My game is crackling, and seems to be repeating. Also, should you hear the shopkeeperes speaking, like the first guy when you get out of the Inn?

Thanks for the help, but please, no spoilers...

depending on the computer you use for this game....

when I first started the game, I got tired of the repeating background music so I turned off the speakers.

expect baby-doll voices and giggling in much later in the game

Adam,

If you've got 2 CD-Rom drives (or can plug a media input device on you sound card).
1- Dissable the music in the game,
2- Put your favorite CD in the second CD-Rom
3- Press play
4- Load the game

Tada... you're now listening to you favorite CD while playing W&W (works fine for me)

RudeDawg...the manual..er..not so great, but read it anyway. I'm just beginning to play and actually have put the whole thing on ice for now, while playing BG2 multi-player as well as IWD, but I did start and had some trouble getting oriented. These fine people have been LOTS of help!

Solo, first time!!! Such a Brave Dawg!!! Will you please let us know how you are doing RudeDawg? Don't change roles too soon now, or you'll miss out on certain quests and training. This should be a great game for you, betcha it will take some time, but you will love it! And No the shopkeepers don't talk outloud, you just get the writing in the text box, no voices there.

I will, Saz, I will! Just now, I've got two BG2 games and an IWD game going with other people (multiplay) in addition to my own game! But W&W is my game for non-multiplay days. Assuming I have GAME time, sigh. Hasn't happened lately. But has to one day!
