Icewind Dale is traditionally the game with the most unballanced and strongest weapons, (i played through iwd i+mission pack, currently iwd 2 chapter 2 so i cant say about the later chapters i just assume) so you miss out very much as a monk. i mean i currently have a sword, found in chapter 1 or 2 which does 2d6 extra dmg to humans! i mean there are so much humans in this game .. or this blade: double dmg to undead... you miss out very much as a monk...

Hey chill out guys... no need to start comparing which is good and which is sucky ... I think all characters have their shitty part and their good part. It just depends on us on which character we like ... i like sorcerer like hell cos i like to stun my enemies in a bunch b4 i toast em with some meteor shower.. or better making all of em to stone and then play baseball and see who breaks the best...
For monks maybe its the wonderfull feeling of being untouchable (i mean at higher levels)

Oh no, K3, it is the feeling I get seeing my monk delivering 1-12 +4 damage every 1.5 seconds (4 times per round). But wait... I reckon the totally best part so far was seeing crystal golems taking 25-35 damage per hit! They were *shattered* by the whole incident..LOL!

wth are you talking about?! You can have a 1st level monk with an AC out of this world if you do it right.
First off... Make him a Deep Gnome. OBVIOUSLY Stats: str: 10 or 12 dex:20 cons: 10 or 12 int: whatever, but not too high wis: 20 cha: 1 The AC of this monk at 1st level with no equipment is... 10 +4 race +5 dex +5 wis = 24... heh I think you can see the obvious benefits. Damage for monk at 1st level ain't great, but its not bad. At higher levels though, his damage is insane. Come on! Monks kick ass! Another funny trick is to run an Aasimar paladin and duel to monk at 2nd level. Saves are insanely high too. I like the svirf though |
