How stupid can you get?

Less serious but still stupid story coming up:

I was once with a group of archaeologists travelling to a dig overseas. We were all carrying archaeological equipment for the dig in our luggage, which we'd checked over and packed ourselves - no problem.

When we got to check-in, the first guy up to the desk was asked 'has anyone asked you to carry anything for them on this flight?' and the idiot replied 'Yes' misinterpreting the question, and referring to the archaeological equipment given to him by our university, which he'd had for weeks and packed himself, and consisted of bags of nails, finds labels, and empty finds boxes

Cue the arrival of the drug squad to check all our luggage, our flight being delayed, and a huge amount of fuss and panic.

Moron.

that could just be an honest mistake, you know...i doubt he felt too proud of himself for making a mistake like that...

It´s no real wonder, I might have done the same. In the worst case, you might be far away from home and moneyless. It can drive you to panic and helplessness.

Sadly, not all archaeologists wear felt fedoras, leather jackets, and bull whips.

I liked the name of the Airport--"Rogue Valley International"

The guy was just being his 'rogue' self!
