I just invested in a volcano 7 copper core heat sink and some Arctic Silver compund. The frickin' things a monster and I'll have to move my exhaust fan. It looks like you could cool a small internal combustion engine with it! Hopefully this helps. I really hope the processor isn't already fried.

Update! I bought a new volcano 7 heat sink and some arctic compound. When I took the old sink off I found a peice of grit in the old compound! It must have gotten in there when I was putting on the heat sink and prevented a good flush contact. As soon as the grease heated up and started running off the top of the CPU from around the grit, the heat transfer got worse and worse. This explains the slow onset of the problem. Anyway, even with the new premium copper heat sink and compound, it still gets up over 120 degrees under load. That's with the room being cool. What about when summer gets here? Is 100-107 standby and 117-125 under load still running too hot? It seems like it should be. I'm not getting any heat induced anomalies anymore and have been running for almost 72 hours straight.
