I resent that! calling a lvl 1 char 'weak and stupid'. thats just mean, *grins* but I *do* see your point. I think that they 'under' rated the monster difficulties... I find that sometimes I have problems with 'effortless' creatures more so then I do with 'moderate'. probably becasue they swarm, and I charge them... lol, was funny today, took down a ton of orcs wiht my bow from a bridge... stupid creatures; just standing there while I sniped them...

Heh, mmm let's say, as yet unpotentialised level one characters then?

I agree about underrating monster difficulties though. Fluffy (my panther) gets killed by more weak zombies than he does by bosses. Also I really hate when I've killed something really tough, like Gulnan, and I get 300xp. I know relatively that's probably good, but it seems so stingy. I'd prefer more experience for killing tough monsters and bigger gaps between levels

Duergar clerics, rated as easy, were taking me out unless I attacked them very carefully. Death Slaads, also rated easy, maybe effortless, killed me a number of times. The difficulty ratings are definitely a bit off.

yes, it's too easy to reach level 20, at about 3/4 of chapter 3, my figther has reach lv20 already.

the level cap should be higher.

On the shinier side of the coin, leveling very fast means that we can play more characters.

My new goal is to have a level 20 character of each class.

kakero how is it you got to lvl 20 at chap 3 like that? they set the game up so that by the time you reach midway act 4 you should cap out. i know ive done evry last available quest cept for the mage guild quests. but that wasnt a whole lot of xp for doing those so curious lvl 20 at chap 3?? also when you played BG2 what chap did you max out your lvl at when you played? i had at least 2 full chap left when i was maxed out.i also felt they did a good thing maxing it out at lvl 20 cause if you got 2 much bigger in the game all those creatures would have been rated effortless.

Exactly Aelia! I might have just got level 10, but it's only 2,000 more experience from lvl 10 to 11, then it was from 9 to 10. what's up with that?

actually the progression goes up 1000 + every level.
up to a certain point though cause i cant remember when it starts to taper off.
i know for the first levels the progression goes like this
1:1000
2:3000
3:6000
4:10000
5:15000
6:21000
7:28000
8:36000
9:45000
and so on up to 180000 i believe is what it was. so somewhere up past level 9 i think lvl 10 it doesnt change that much for added xp

in Luskan town area, you can fight the same monster over and over again ( just walk around and they'll respawn ). that's how I can get the level cap fast.

the portal in Kluth place where it wil spawn imps. is also a good place to gain experience points.

One of the floor of host tower ( where it got multiple portal that will spawn imps like creature ) is a good place too.

you just have to be patient though.
