And next time, use protection.

Zonealarm will prevent drive-by downloading, one of the common ways that gator and its like infests a PC. Its a software firewall program that has a free verion anyone can download. I paid for Zonealarm Pro I liked it so much.

I use Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware after my recent encounter. They make my life much easier between them, and the only downside has been the periodic pop-up from Spybot S&D saying, "Hey, you're about to download some nasty stuff. Block it?".
And the default is yes... gotta love it.

Harssenfeegenblorgenderfers....
Okay, just got a new laptop today, and figured I'd try to start it off right. It had one mean-and-nasty that Ad-Aware found, and four that Spybot S&D found... nuked, lemmetellya! And for kicks, I rechecked my main PC, and found that some 47 other critters had re-established residency on it! Including the one that got me riled a month ago... so they're now all gone again. Good news is I found a setting in Spybot that lets me automatically block everything, so I don't have to put up with the prompts. Gotta love it Bottom line is to use them and to keep them up-to-date. Safe computing is the way to go...
