Back on topic somewhat. I hate religion myself - nothing against the concept of god, but all the ceremony and people claiming to know His will puts me right off. (Plus religion seems to be the cause of a large proportion of human misery throughout history). But I was dragged into a church of some description during my youth and I do seem to recall the bald gentelman in front saying something about forgiveness. Not much of that here is there? Plus, dosent this guy need some of the support and understanding priests etc are supposed to provide? Hypocrisy in the church seems to be in evidence here.

I'm a Catholic and attend a Catholic School, and, I've heard from reputable sources, i.e. assistant deputy head, that someone was expelled for being pregnant. I don't know what to think. They said something to the school about it. "This school is a catholic school and anyone who attends this school makes concessions, and must obey the catholic religion.
She violated that, but, I think being expelled is to harsh. And a Detention seems in appropriate. Abortion is out of the question, so what other than suspension? Suspension seems appropriate. But, she was attending a Catholic School. In another school, a none-descript religion one like most others in England, it should be alright. I'm not insulting that those particular types of schools, just saying their values are a little more flexible! |

I concur that they have the right to do this. It's privately runn (by a church no less). Also bear in mind laws in Argentina are different
The boy probably knew the expulsion was a possibility beforehand and I doubt the baby was planned. And abortion is not out of the question in some areas, no matter what your personal feelings may be on the matter |
