What is the diff, anyway? Aren't Universities like Oxford and Cambridge made up of many seperate Colleges? Like Balliol and Magdalen?

LOL it's weird! When I read this I thought, what? Jerome's only 15, how is he going to uni? Everyone's age has stayed the same in my mind since I first came here

What is the diff, anyway? Aren't Universities like Oxford and Cambridge made up of many seperate Colleges? Like Balliol and Magdalen?
Indeed they are, but a person does not put on their CV that they went to 'college' if they went to Oxford University. In this country, colleges are a level of education *below* university level. One graduates from a college at 18 with A-levels, and a University at 21 (or so) with a degree. That's quite a difference in my book

An individual section of a University can be a college, but someone who went to Magdelen went to Oxford University according to their resume. A university can have seperate 'colleges', but it is *not* a college level of education.

I guess the equivalent would be me saying that a person who graduated from Yale was 'Mr High School', because Yale could technically be called a 'school'. A Yale graduate wouldn't be too happy to have his college achievments equated with his high-school achievments in the same way that in the UK, a 'College Graduate' and a 'University Graduate' are two totally distinct things

Hope that cleared it up for you

Ahh, but nobody says he HAS to attend school/university in England or it's environs!

Congrats, Craig, whatever you call it.
