The accident happened 3pm here. I spent the rest of the time watching the news and posting on the forum. I actually managed to get some sleep, I'm still in shock from the whole thing.

I'm in the Netherlands here, and I wasn't able to sleep for a single minute. Those horrible images will flash through my mind for a very long time...

Horrible things happening today in Singapore..
The pictures of people climbing out of the windows in the WTC made it to front page in local newspapers today.. I can't say I'm impressed by the lack of sympathy or sorrow in the passages dedicated to these tragic events. Its no wonder Singapore does'nt know the true horror of the matter till it watches it on the news, and we dont even have full coverage of the matter. I saw those pictures on a train today, and thats what killed me the most today. I felt so angry/upset/shocked/sad that people who had nothing to do with American policy making had their lives suddenly and violently interrupted by a plane crashing into their workplace, that ordinary people were driven by fear so much that they threw themselves out of windows.. It nearly brings tears to my eyes recalling the feeling I had when I first heard it almost 16 hours ago. ------------------ Resident Lurker Guy |

I'm relieved to say that I have not seen any of those pictures. I've heard stories about it, but not seen anything. I hope I never do. Mark |

Is everyone as overwhelmed as I am? I hardly know what to do to help, but pray and pray unceasingly..
I was with another American friend today and we were angry enough to chew through rocks and yell at anyone who was'nt taking it seriously.. Its on the lips and minds of everyone today.. And skywalker..I think the only reason why people dont burst into tears while reading those things and seeing the pictures here is because its not happening in our nation. The insensitivity of people sometimes.. ------------------ Resident Lurker Guy |

Actually from what I've seen in my own country is devastated. I know I am... I don't think not being able to cry has anything to do with the country you live in. After all, most European countries are nowhere near as patriotic as the USA, so we can sympathise with people from another country perfectly. I think it has more to do with the fact that most people simply can't believe it. If it happens a world away, you see it happening on TV and you are just stunned...it is too much to grasp... I was stunned myself, I just couldn't believe it. Then, after two hours suddenly something snapped inside of me and I started crying. It is just too unbelievable for most people to realise. ------------------ Melusine, Sultry Elflet, High Queen of Fluffies, Archbabe of the OHF, LH and HADB Your voice is ambrosia Amy Brown Fantasy Art |

Melusine, I agree with you. I meant to say that we're on the other side of the world, and we cannot comprehend what is happening over there.
Right now I'm speaking to someone whom I like very much, whos saying the US was too complacent to stop this. I've just lost every shred of respect for her. ------------------ Resident Lurker Guy |

I tossed and turned all night long and got barely any sleep at all. I am walking in a zombie-like state, trying to get ready for work today. What a sad and tragic day for the world, not just the United States of America. This has affected all of us.

OK thanks...I didn't mean to say I disagreed, I think we actually agree but phrased it differently. I'm sorry about your friend. I cannot believe some people. ------------------ Melusine, Sultry Elflet, High Queen of Fluffies, Archbabe of the OHF, LH and HADB Your voice is ambrosia Amy Brown Fantasy Art |
