All I seem to want to do right now is type, weird, anyway here is another story.

“Are you ok Anaerion?” shouted Calcazar, the sorcerer’s voice drifting down into the darkness. “Is anything hurt?”
“Damn, how did I not see this with my infravision”. “Err only my pride,” mumbled Anaerion Stormblade, nursing a nasty bump on his head.
“What was that?” “We can’t hear you”, yelled the Barbarian, Ragnar.
“Keep your voice down Manling!” bellowed Anaerion. “Of course I’m alright. I err…was merely investigating this interesting perpendicular tunnel for um… secret doors.” There was no way that Anaerion was going to let a bunch of inexperienced first-timers know that he was in trouble.
“I think there is a concealed treasure chamber here”, he spoke, feeling around in the darkness with his hands just for good effect.
“Hold on then Anaerion”, shouted the sorcerer, Calcazar and the eager voice of Ragnar the Barbarian, the sound of the two echoing in the darkness, followed by the falling of loose rocks and debris.
“No wait what are you doing?” yelled Anaerion, before a well-built Barbarian and a wire-framed sorcerer crashed down on him with a mighty thump. “You oafs!” yelled Anaerion while dragging himself from out from underneath them.
“Ouch! I think I broke something”, Calcazar complained.
“Nonsense, Anaerion broke your fall. You’re just a little bruised. That’s all”, said Ragnar, rolling his eyes.
Light flickered in the darkness as Ragnar got the lantern going, illuminating beyond doubt the fact that they were all crammed together in a tiny space at the bottom of a deep, slimy hole.
“Right then, you cunning Elf, lets get going.” The grinning Barbarian was almost quivering with anticipation of a blood filled battle and a large horde of treasure.
“Yes, Anaerion, where is that secret door you found?” spoke Calcazar.

“Err… guys did you, by any chance, think to bring the rope down with you?

Gazzerath smiled, and pulled his beard, thoughtfully, “they come! At last, they come!”
The room was filled with green-skins, clutching and sharpening their weapons for the bloodbath to come.
“Ok, I want 10 of ‘ya over there and another ten over here so that we ambush them!”
Gazzerath let out an evil laugh; his eyes wide open with anticipation, fire burning in his pupils. The evil sorcerer climbed atop a pile of stones and old bones to get high ground, his minions surrounding him. Gazzerath took one last look in his glass ball.
“Yes, they are close now, the rest of you take your positions!”

The trap had been set…

Soon after the double doors burst open, a mighty barbarian ran straight into the center of the room, a wizard mumbling the final words of a spell, and a slender female cleric covering the wizard.
“Gazzerath die!” yelled the wizard, before a mighty bolt of electricity shot from his fingertips.
Gazzerath laughed as a purple coloured shield reflected the lightning bolt with a blinding flash. The bolt rebounded and ran right through the female cleric, her armour only acting as a conductor.
“Now my minions! Attack!” With that – a howling mass o Monsters suddenly leapt from the shadows.

The trap had been sprung…

“Up there”, whispered Magnus Firefist, pointing to a massive dragon-shaped jewel, lying atop a 20ft silver statue of a claw. The other warriors stopped and stood poised at the entrance to the room, the only light source in the room, a moat of molten-steal surrounding the statue.
One of their numbers was missing: Gotbrek Ironbeard, the dwarven fighter. Only the muted sound of steel on steel and the screams and moans of wounded and dying Orcs showed he was still alive.
Kromnar the Barbarian was breathing heavily, the black shaft of a Goblin arrow protruding from the flesh of his right shoulder. His sword arm hanging useless by his side, still clutching his mighty sword. The blood refused to clot where the arrow entered flesh, an ugly red and purple weal betrayed the poison within.
“Dammit! I am no more use than a child, and Gotbrek can’t hold them forever, they are not far behind!” the young Barbarian eager to get back into the fight.
Anathica, the female Cleric in the party gestured Kromnar to be silent.
“This won’t take long”, she spoke, the large Barbarian’s eagerness dissipating while having the ravishing women leaning over him.
“Go Anaerion! Only an Elf of your stature can scale that surface”, spoke Magnus while pointing to the large silver statue.
Meanwhile, Anathica spoke the last word of her spell and fire sprang out from the torn flesh causing Kromnar to grimace in pain. Anathica pulled the arrow from the wound as the fire died down, leaving just a thin white scar. Anathica laughed at the shock on the Barbarian’s face.
“Good as new”, she giggled.
High in the next room, Anaerion had climbed up to where the large jewel was.
“Hey guys, is there anything I need to do before taking the jewel?” The others looked at each other….
“Er… hang on a sec, I’ll check…” said Magnus, while grabbing a thick book from his backpack. “Hhmm… where is that blasted page!”

Suddenly, green-skins burst into the corridor where the party was, howling their rage. A fat object flew through the air and landed at Kromnar’s feet. It was Grotbrek’s mutilated body. The dead dwarf looked like a quiver, with thousands of arrows sticking out from his body.
“Orcs!” shouted the Barbarian leaping forward, sword raised.
“What is the call here Magnus?!?” yelled Anaerion.
“Er… ah…. eerraahhh!!” the screams of the wizard fleeing into the large room, where Anaerion was.
“AH! No time to find out now.” And with that – the Elf grabbed the jewel from atop the silver claw statue.

Suddenly the claw started to close up. Anaerion panicked and jumped down, landing on his fleeing friend. The force of the fall crushed the wizard and broke Anaerion’s legs, the pain knocking him out.

“Waarrrrggghhhhh!!!!” – the final words of the Barbarian and Cleric as they charged into the oncoming Orcs!

its a great story! keep this stuff comming!

Large battle scenes are always hard to depict, i cant wait to hear about the battle!

Or you could always do what the lodoss war did, skip the battle and cut to the aftermath this could go ANYWHERE!

A suggestion, Deathbringer. Why not bring the story (or stories) over to the 'Online Roleplaying' message board (also here at Ironworks), where you can invite others to participate in the story and add to it by bringing in characters of their own? That would be even more fun, don't you reckon?
