Do you collect items? Since the skeleton key is the only one exist in the game. I think.
Reputation in theory improve your disposition with the people. However, when your speechcraft and personality is 100. It will overwrite what your reputation does. |

reputation is really no big deal. my personality and speechcraft is high enough that i almost never fail at shmoozing people over without spending a dime.
the skeleton key is nice especially since it has 50 uses instead of only 25 but like armageddon siad with a security skill of 100 it doesn't make much of a difference which lock pick you use.

Reputation has a use for those who roleplay. Since everyone I know of will train with a skill master people will always overlook that.
