I had the same thing like you Memnoch, except i had even more data miners and cookies and stuff. I can't remember exactly how many, but i was stunned. I downloaded Ad-aware from Lavasoft after it became clear i also had a trojan, which automatically connected my PC to the internet, and took me to some site from a casino.

Ad-aware couldn't remove the trojan though, i needed another program to get rid of that. It's all pretty annoying, i hope they come up with some kind of a law against that.

Thanks for this thread Memnoch, it has been useful to me as well I have a spyware program, but I think it also deleted my homepage LOL. It is called Search and Destroy LOL. Think it searched and destroyed maybe some stuff I didn't want gone LOL.

I think I'll try the ones above next time round

A lot of anti spyware if set to the highest setting do stop you changing your homepage. It's a defence against some programmes that grab your homepage setting and swaps it for something else. therfore I always have my homepage as blank.

I can reccomend spybot. It is usually available free on those CD's you get with computer mags.

The monitor your internet habits, then sell the info they get. Advertisers and spam merchants pay for lists of valid email addresses and information on what the owners interests are.

Its an entire industry based on spying on people.

You can get Kazaa-Lite which doesn't have spyware.

As for what you use your Kazaa for, I'd rather not know.
