What's wrong with the IOC ?

btw does the 'C' in IOC stand for Coca Cola ?

j/k
Naah, IOC stands for Irritating Old Cockroaches . NYC will probably not get the 2012 since the US has had both summer and winter recently (and none of them were that good)...

I hope London or Paris gets it. Nothing against NYC but it I think we get to many Olympics. It seems like theres a summer or winter Olympics here too often. Money and political influence would be my guess lol. Screw the Olympic hogs (err us)! As an Olympian myself(marathon runner) I want to compete in Europe

GO LONDON!!!!!!!!!!! It'd be great to have the Olympics on my doorstep. Paris would be ok, I guess, if I could take the time off uni. I have no chance of going to NY. Oh well.

I know the answer to this one - don't tell me - no hints.

I know - it's because we are the greatest city in the world with history, heritage and style.

Or it might be that we haven't put a bid in.

Don't have a go at me you drongo! Or should I call you a Billy Goat!

I'm getting my retaliation in before the Eshes start.

LofA, maybe too many big American cities get the Olympics, but what about us little guys?

I'm thinking Rockingham (population @10,000) in 2004. We could build up the NC Speedway a little, but not too much(we wouldn't want to mess up the NASCAR season races). We would only be able to hold events that involve, or could be modified to involve, an asphalt oval track.

I think we could get away with the changes without too much difficulty. If anyone starts asking too many questions about the changes, we can always focus attention on the new awe inspiring complex we'll be featuring...

Yes, I'm talking about the temporary home of our international atheletes, the beautiful "Olympic Trailer Park Village".

Everything is relative Yorick. I don't consider 200 years to be classed as historical.

Westminster Abbey is over 950 years old you know. That Sydney Opera House looks like something that has crawled out of the sea and is getting up to no good.
Wow that's something else. 950 years eh? Well Sydney's 'Three Sisters' are tens of thousands of years old. I guess history IS relative Australia's 40,000 years worth of human history is a pretty long time I guess.
