Football or hockey?

How come everyone is mentioning hockey ? I thought he mentioned football and basketball, and that the topictitle was just a spelling mistake.

I'd like to see football on ice.

I might watch hockey nowadays as a certain California team seems to be doing well - lost interest in basketball after my favorite announcer passed away - only really watch football at the world cup - indifferent about the 'twisted' football - I guess I still like baseball the most. I'd like to see cricket for once - we don't get that in the states - ooh, ooh, wait, no, I'd watch curling all the time if that was being shown regularly in the US. That'd also be a game I'd actually think I'd be decent at, can't play the others worth a lick.

Actually you are wrong Epona. From my point of view. Over here "hockey" is ice hockey and not field hockey in speech AND in the dictionaries. In England you are absolutely right, hockey is field hockey. I looked it up yesterday and the word hockey means two different things depending on your location. So everyone is right and no one is wrong when saying hockey. [img]smile.gif[/img]
